To comply with federal regulations regarding the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) of 2021 (HEERF II), Bossier Parish Community College is providing easily accessible, public information regarding the dollar amount and use of grant funds awarded by the U.S. Department of Education.

CRRSAA: HEERF II – Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students

The College distributed the $1,957,956 grant award to students in its entirety. As of March 3, 2021, the College has awarded and disbursed in emergency financial aid grants $1,957,956 to 2,882 students.

The following criteria were used by the institution to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under CRRSAA.

Students with active enrollment in a Title IV eligible program between March 1-31, 2020, who filed a FASFA no later than March 13, 2020, and who are eligible to receive Title IV funds (according to Section 484 of the HEA) within the spring 2020 payment period, excluding: prisoners; cross-enrolled students who “home institution” is a non-LCTCS college; students enrolled only in online courses; and

In cases where a student is enrolled in two (2) or more LCTCS colleges during the month of March 2020, the college with the most academic history will award the funds. Such students should not receive more than one (1) payment.

CRRSAA: HEERF II – Institutional Portion   

As of January 17, 2021, Bossier Parish Community College was awarded $7,894,109 in CRRSAA funding for HEERF Institutional Portion. Pursuant to Section 314(a)(1) of CRRSAA, the College will use this award to defray expenses associated with the coronavirus (including lost revenue, reimbursement for expenses already incurred, technology costs associate with a transition to distance education, faculty and staff training, and payroll); carry out student support activities authorized by the HEA that address needs related to the coronavirus; and may make additional financial grants to students, which may be used for any component of the student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care), or child care.

CRRSAA: HEERF II – Strengthening Institutions Program

As of March 3, 2021, Bossier Parish Community College was awarded $502,067 in CRRSAA funding for HEERF - Strengthening Institutions Program.

Pursuant to Section 314(a)(2) of CRRSAA, The College will use this award to defray expenses associated with the coronavirus (including lost revenue, reimbursement for expenses already incurred, technology costs associate with a transition to distance education, faculty and staff training, and payroll); and carry out student support activities authorized by the HEA that address needs related to the coronavirus.
