BPCC THEATRE TO HOLD AUDITIONS FOR THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL

The Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) Theatre Program and the Cavalier Players are excited to invite local talent to audition for the upcoming production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. Auditions will be held at 6:30 pm on August 19th and 20th in the Stephen W. Slaughter Theatre, located in Building C on the BPCC campus at 6220 East Texas Street in Bossier City.

This dynamic musical adaptation of Rick Riordan's bestselling book, which opened on Broadway in 2019, follows the thrilling adventures of Percy Jackson, the half-blood son of a Greek god. With newly discovered powers he can't control, Percy embarks on a quest to find and return Zeus's stolen lightning bolt, prevent a war between the gods, and confront his destiny. The show features an exhilarating original rock score by Rob Rokicki and a book by Joe Tracz.

BPCC Theatre encourages performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, ages, and abilities to audition. Several roles are available, and community members aged 14 and older are encouraged to participate. High school students who meet the age requirement are especially welcome to audition for this exciting production.

Actors should bring a headshot and resume if available, though they are not required. It is recommended that actors arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete an audition form. Auditioners should be prepared to read from the script, and BPCC Theatre students will be required to present a 30-second monologue. However, prepared monologues are not required for other students or community members. Those auditioning should dress comfortably and be ready to "move about."

  • Performance Dates: October 24 – November 3, 2024
  • Book by: Joe Tracz
  • Music & Lyrics by: Rob Rokicki
  • Adapted from: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
