Bossier Parish Community College's Division of Business and Information Technology (BIT) is thrilled to announce BIT Family Day, set for Saturday, August 10, from 10am until 1pm on BPCC’s Bossier Campus, located at 6220 East Texas Street. This event is designed to enhance community engagement and celebrate the start of a new academic year. A key highlight of BIT Family Day will be the introduction of the new Dean, Quentin Calhoun.
Calhoun brings extensive experience and a student-focused vision to BPCC, emphasizing the recruitment, retention, and success of students in all BIT programs.
“Our students are at the heart of everything we do. We understand challenges students face, and we’re committed to their growth and achievement,” Calhoun said.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of informative sessions and activities, including:
- Fall semester registration opportunities
- Presentations on campus resources available to students
- Tours of the Cavalier Care Center
- Information on enrolling in the Fiber Optic Initiative cohort, which includes tuition assistance and a monthly stipend
"We are seeing an incredible response to our Fiber Optic Initiative, reflecting the strong demand and interest in this cutting-edge program," Calhoun said. "In light of this overwhelming interest, we are excited to announce that we will expand this initiative to include 15 additional students who are not part of the College Transition Programs."
The Division of Business and Information Technology includes Business, Information Technology, Culinary Arts, and Cosmetology programs.
