The Art Department at Bossier Parish Community College will host a gallery reception on Wednesday, March 16, for the recently installed exhibit, Lost/Gained. The reception is open to the public and will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Building A on the BPCC campus, 6220 East Texas Street in Bossier City.
Lost/Gained is a group exhibition of work made during and/or in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each piece illustrates negative (loss) and positive (gain) experienced in a generalized or more personal way. Artist and retired surgeon Mike Torma says, “My aim, in these paintings, is to strongly express the frustration of the healthcare worker over the human waste created when people simply refuse to follow scientific guidelines, especially vaccination, to limit both the spread and the impact of this disease.”
The show will be on display in the Donna Service Gallery through April 14, 2022. The gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
