BPCC Communication Media film students produced an award-winning public service announcement for the April Military Child Appreciation Month. The students created the PSA as part of a video competition for The Northwest Louisiana Military Support Foundation and Bossier Chamber of Commerce.
Each year, April is set aside as a military child appreciation month, officially known as the Month of the Military Child. The awareness month is used to recognize military kids for their sacrifice and bravery on the homefront. The Month of the Military Child Video Competition looked to choose a winner that focused on military children, the sacrifices they make, and best practices for communities to show support.
“The production of this video really is important for us as a group to recognize military members that give every single year, and what that means for their children,” Chris Steinsholt, Chair of The Northwest Louisiana Military Support Foundation.
“Thank you for capturing what the military child goes through,” said Steinsholt.

“I’m actually a military child myself,” said Lemon “I wanted to make sure that people understand that it really is a struggle for military children and they should receive support from their community.”
The winning title came with a $500.00 cash prize that will be donated to the BPCC Foundation Communication Media student scholarship fund.
