BPCC CHOIR TO PRESENT 'A NIGHT OF BROADWAY' SPRING CONCERT

The Concert Choir, under the direction of Jennifer Jackson, will present its spring concert 'A Night of Broadway' at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 16, in the Stephen W. Slaughter Performing Arts Theatre in Building C on the BPCC campus, 6220 E. Texas St, Bossier City, LA.

The ensemble will perform three selections of musical theatre beginning with This is Me, from The Greatest Showman, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, arr. By Mac Huff; Medley from Les Miserables, Claude-Michel Schonberg and Herbert Kretzmer, Arr. By Ed Lojeski.; and Seasons of Love from Rent, Jonathan Larson, arr. Roger Emerson. The choir will be accompanied by Dr. Gulya Chandler.

Students performing in the Concert Choir are Sopranos: Genesis Spearman, Candice Lott, Riley Flannery, and Madison Harris; Altos: Sarah Marcelino, Sharhonda Grant, Kaliyah Grant, Peyton Johnson, and Madison Harper; Tenors: Ethan Davis and Bailey Green; Bass: Cason Smith and Erinton Taylor.

Many of the students enrolled in the Concert Choir have earned music tuition waivers. Music scholarships are awarded to students who pass an audition, maintain a 2.00 GPA, and are full-time BPCC students. Auditions for BPCC music scholarships are held several times throughout the year.

This concert is free and open to the public. In compliance with the BPCC campus Covid-19 prevention policy — audience members are required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing on campus.
