Mission

The mission of the Internal Audit function of Bossier Parish Community College is to provide management with an independent appraisal which examines and evaluates the Colleges overall system of internal control.


Goal

Maintain a documented Audit Plan in compliance with general and specific industry standards that fulfills the expectations and needs of the College and is in agreement with the provisions of the BPCC Internal Audit Charter.


Supporting Objectives

  • Determine that the controls in each College Department unit or activity under audit are adequate, effective, efficient, and functioning.
  • Determine the reliability and adequacy of the accounting, financial and reporting systems and procedures.
  • Determine that College activities, are in compliance with College Policies and Procedures, State & Federal laws and regulations; Contractual obligations, Board Rules and good business practices.
  • Determine the extent to which College assets are accounted for and safeguarded from losses of all kinds and, as appropriate, verifying the existence of such assets.
