1-Year Online Programs
BPCC's 1-Year Online courses are taught in an accelerated format and programs can be completed in 12 months (3 semesters), allowing students the opportunity to complete a program faster. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Transfer the program to another university
- Enter the workforce
- Enhance their skills or position in a current job
Students may submit prior academic credit or prior learning to BPCC for review for possible academic credit toward one of these programs.

In-state tuition fee rates apply to all online courses.

- As online students, complete the “exemption” portion of the Proof of Immunization Form for “personal reasons” stating you are an online student.

Request transcripts
Request transcripts from any colleges attended previously only if you want to use transfer credits. All transcripts must be submitted directly to BPCC.

How to be a Successful Online Student Taking Accelerated Courses
Bossier Parish Community College is committed to helping students have a successful learning experience. Use the following tools to help you identify the chances of having a successful E-Learning experience.
Is online learning for me?
Online Courses
Students taking online courses will be utilizing BPCC’s myBPCC E-Learning Platform.
Students should be:
- self-motivated.
- proficient in good study skills and time management skills.
- computer literate.
- goal-oriented.
- capable of learning on their own through reading, research, and assignments.
- able to save and manage files on their computer.
- knowledgeable on how to check e-mail and send and open e-mail attachments.
- experienced in accessing the Internet.
- willing to participate in their online course at least 3-5 times per week.
Please note: some online courses require access to certain software programming.
First-Time Online Students
myBPCC is the course management system for all BPCC online courses.
myBPCC student orientation is

- Students can elect to begin the accelerated 12-month online program during the fall, spring, or summer semester.
- Students must see an accelerated program advisor to schedule classes for each semester until the completion of the program.
- Students must follow the accelerated program’s designated schedule of classes for each semester to guarantee completion of the program in the 12-month format. (3 semesters)
Students are strongly encouraged to see the accelerated program advisor before dropping a course; otherwise, he/she may be in jeopardy of not completing the program in the 12-month format.

How do I transfer my previous college credits to BPCC?
- You must submit a request, to all previous institutions attended, for your transcripts to be sent directly to BPCC. Transcripts must be sent from the school as BPCC cannot accept student copies.
- For your convenience, use the BPCC transcript request form when requesting official transcripts from each institution.
Please note:
Students will need to request transcripts from colleges previously attended, ONLY IF they want to use transfer credits.
Acceptance of Transfer Credits

Course Articulation Matrix
If you attended another Louisiana college or university before transferring to BPCC, you can view the Course Articulation Matrix to learn how some of your courses from your previous college may transfer to BPCC.
BPCC Accelerated programs are designed for working adults who have never attended college or who previously attended, but did not finish college. These courses are taught online at an accelerated pace and cover the same amount of material in four (4) weeks or eight (8) weeks that is taught in a regular sixteen (16) week semester. Since courses are online, you must be comfortable learning on your own.
The following degree programs are offered in an online, accelerated format:
- Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration
- Associate of General Studies
- Associate of Science Healthcare Management
- Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice
All programs are 100% online with the exception of Speech 110. (Coursework is online, but all speeches must be presented on campus)

The first step in applying for financial aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. The key to the financial aid process is to apply early! The FAFSA application and all other BPCC application documents must be completed to determine eligibility.
Acceptance of credit hours is based on an evaluation of your transcript(s) from previous colleges attended.
- You must submit a request, to all previous institutions attended, for your transcripts to be sent directly to BPCC. Transcripts must be sent from the school as BPCC cannot accept student copies.
- An official high school transcript is also required.
The immunization form is required for all students attending BPCC. As an online student, you may complete the exemption portion of the Adult Immunization Waiver Request
stating you are an online student. Completion of this form is a requirement for your admission.
BPCC offers a number of Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) options:
Nationally standardized exams, challenge and/or skills exams for BPCC specified courses, non-academic instruction evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE), and portfolio assessment of college-level learning acquired through work experience.

A placement test is highly recommended if you have not taken college-level math or English courses, or if you have not submitted ACT/SAT scores.
Several options are available:
- Take the developmental course needed in a classroom setting on the BPCC campus or on-campus at an institution in your area.
- Placement tests can be taken, up to three times, to achieve higher test scores. Sample test questions are available to assist you in preparing to take the placement test or before additional attempts are made to achieve a higher placement test score.
- Open Campus offers free online, non-credit developmental courses which are designed to assist you in preparing for placement testing.
