Future Online Students
Online learning allows us to bring educational opportunities to you. This type of learning is especially beneficial to students who live far away from campus, have busy work schedules, family demands, and other commitments. Online courses are also an excellent option for students who prefer to work independently at any time of day.

Online courses require as much or more time than “traditional” courses. You should plan on spending about 10-12 hours a week per online course engaging in readings, completing assignments, taking tests, and participating in class discussions.
You should possess basic computer and internet skills. Basic computer skills include such things as where to find files on your computer, how to save files, using a word processor program, and how to send and receive e-mails with attachments. Basic internet skills include using a web browser, using search engines, and uploading & downloading files.
Students taking online courses will utilize BPCC’s myBPCC E-Learning Platform. Online courses are taught using a combination of instructional technologies which will vary for each course: PowerPoint presentations, video tutorials, and myBPCC’s discussion board, research using the Learning Commons or the Web, and learning activities on the Web. You’ll communicate with your instructor and classmates using e-mail and discussion boards. Students are also encouraged to contact their instructor(s) by phone or by setting up a conference when needed.
