BPCC HOSTS LOUISIANA CONTRACTORS ACCREDITATION INSTITUTE SEMINARS

Bossier Parish Community College is one of 12 educational institutes across the state to host new seminars through the award-winning Louisiana Contractors Accreditation Institute for general contractors looking to sharpen their skills in the industry.

The LCAI General Contractors seminar offers small and emerging construction businesses technical knowledge essential to a general contractor working within the construction industry in Louisiana. The course will be offered over a 10-week period, from Sept. 11 to Nov. 15. It will feature two-hour sessions twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Topics include but are not limited to: blueprint reading; building calculations; site work, demolition, and construction; foundations, formwork and retaining walls; finishes; roof structures; structural loads; steel construction; related trades; special construction and equipment; and safety codes.

The LCAI is also offering a Business and Law seminar. This is a six week course for small and emerging construction businesses to learn critical information about construction management and how to prepare for the business law portions of the contractors state licensing exam.

Louisiana Economic Development, the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, and the Louisiana Community and Technical College System developed these innovative programs to meet the needs of a growing construction industry and to establish construction firms throughout Louisiana.
