Spring 2010 Scholarship Reception
On Tuesday, February 17, 2010 Friends, family members and BPCC supporters gathered in the Chancellor’s Board Room for the Spring Scholarship Reception. The event recognized 24 award recipients. Special tributes were made from the families of the late Mrs. Essie Mae Winfield, grandmother of Foundation board member, Mrs. Markey Pierre and the late Mr. Kenneth A. Black, spouse of board member, Helen Black. Including awards from the fall 2009 semester through spring 2010, the BPCC Foundation, Inc. has awarded 47 student scholarships and supplemental awards totaling more than $33,000. A host of local dignitaries and special guests turned out for the event, including Colonel Stephen Basham, Commander of the 2nd Bomb Wing, BAFB; Colonel Shultz; Colonel Ealy (retired BAFB); Mr. Woody Schick, President of Citizens National Bank and Jason Smith also of Citizens N.B.; Jan Elkins, KTBS-3; Tommy Clark, LCTC- System Board of Supervisors; John Hubbard, AEP SWEPCO and many others.
