The Performing Arts - Theatre

The Theatre Program offers an Associate of Arts in Theatre degree, a Certificate of Technical Studies in Theatre, and Technical Competency Areas in Acting, Costume Design, Directing, Lighting Design, Scene Design, Stage or Theatre Management, and Theatre Technician. The Associate of Arts in Theatre is the only associate degree in theatre in the state of Louisiana. The Associate of Arts in Theatre is one of the most exciting associate degrees offered as Bossier Parish Community College. The primary objective of this program is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to work in the performance and/or technical areas of theatre, using the newest digital lighting and sound equipment in the industry.

The Associate of Arts in Theatre degree program is designed to attract students who

  • Want theatre training either as a two-year degree or as transfer credits to a four-year university.
  • Seek courses that can be applied to a variety of four-year degrees.
  • Desire theatre courses that provide additional training for those students already working in the entertainment industry.
  • Want to start work immediately in the industry.

Theatre Scholarships:

Full-tuition theatre scholarships are available. Contact the Theatre Program Director for more information on obtaining a theater scholarship.
