Performing Arts

The Performing Arts area of the Division of Communication and Performing Arts at Bossier Parish Community College consists of both the Music Program and the Theatre Program, both outstanding programs in the state of Louisiana.

Mission

The mission of Performing Arts is to provide students with quality educational opportunities in music and theatre through excellence in classroom instruction and performance skill development. Additionally, students are given formal training and onstage opportunities to enhance musical and theatrical performance and technical skills. All academic standards and student learning outcomes within The Performing Arts emphasize student success. Performing Arts oversees the Associate of Arts in Performing Arts with a concentration in music and a concentration in theatre, the Certificate of Technical Studies in Music, the Certificate of Technical Studies in Theatre, and technical competency areas in acting, costume design, directing, lighting design, scene design, stage or theatre management, and theatre technician.
