Mathematics and Technical Education Programs

The Division of Mathematics and Technical Education offers the following degree and certificate programs: Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Control Systems, Associate of General Studies with a Concentration in Computer Drafting and Design, Certificate of Technical Studies in Construction Technology, and Technical Competency Area in the Manufacturing Technology.

• The Associate of Applied Science in Construction Technology and Management is a 63-semester hour, two-year curriculum emphasizing skills and knowledge essential for employment leading to a management position in the area of construction.
• Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Control Systems
  The AAS program is designed to train industrial technicians who install, operate, and maintain systems used to control industrial processes.

• The Associate of Applied Science in Oil and Gas Production Technology is a 63-semester hour curriculum to prepare students for careers in the oil and gas industry.
• Associate of General Studies with a Concentration in Computer Drafting and Design (Group VI)
  This program trains individuals to be proficient CADD operators. It concentrates on Engineering Graphics, Blueprint Interpretation, CADD operation, and Common Symbols used in various fields of industry.

• Certificate of Technical Studies in Construction Technology
  The CTS program is designed for graduates to be prepared to act as a foreman overseeing a construction site and to accommodate those people currently employed in the residential/commercial construction industry who which to upgrade their job skills.

• The Certificate of Technical Studies in Oil and Gas Production Technology is a 33- semester hour curriculum to prepare students for careers in the oil and gas industry.
• Technical Competency Area in the Manufacturing Technology
  The Technical Competency Area in the Manufacturing Technology program will produce skilled employees for the manufacturing industries. Skills taught have been derived from typical business requirements for existing manufacturing employees and those entering the workforce.
• The Technical Competency Area in Computer Drafting and Design provides students with skills and knowledge necessary for a computer-aided drafter working in industry. The TCA provides a short path into the computer drafting career field. The TCA also allows those presently working in CAD, who are self-taught computer drafters, to acquire competency to show their level of technical training.
