- Basic Field Safety Orientation. (2-2-0)
Prerequisite or corequisite: MATH 99 or MATH 102.
Comprehensive field safety orientation for oil and gas production and processing facilities; includes and expands upon the topics of the PEC Basic Orientation safety awareness course SafeLand. Meets API RP 75 & API RP T-1 requirements and provides a basic understanding at an awareness level of certain general safety information that an employee should know before entering a company facility and while performing his/her assigned work duties. Students capstone this course with the Safeland training program, testing and certification.
- Safety Regulations and Hazwoper 40 Safety Certification. (3-3-0)
Prerequisite: OGPT 207.
Continuation of ISAF 109 with in-depth study of field safety for oil and gas production and processing facilities, including safety techniques for hazard and hazard effect management; process safety and hazards control; safety culture; chemical agents; hazard communication; biological agents; fire safety; lockout/tagout; tool safety; machine guarding; motor vehicle; lifting operations and lifting equipment; electrical safety; noise and vibration; radiation and radioactive sources; construction and demolition; scaffolding and ladders; excavation; and safety logistics. Students capstone this course with the OSHA Hazwoper 40 training program, testing and certification.
