Twelve (12) Separate Concentrations

Learning Outcomes:

Within the following twelve concentrations in Telecommunications: Broadcasting, Business of Makeup, Business of Music, Computer Animation, Film, Fine Art Photography, Graphic Design, Media for the Ministry, Photography, Radio, Sound Recording Technology, and Television Production, recipients of the Certificate of Technical Studies in Telecommunications will have demonstrated:

1. skills required for entry-level employment and performance in media-related services in their area of specialty: broadcasting, business of makeup, business of music, computer animation, film, fine art photography, graphic design, media for the ministry, photography, radio, sound recording technology, and television production,
2. ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate job-related services within their areas of expertise in media
3. ability to supervise, recruit and train employees within their field of expertise,
4. skills to comprehend and evaluate information related to their area of responsibility by producing a quality finished product, and
5. skills to effectively communicate with staff, administration, and clients using databases, scheduling, preparation of written reports and oral presentations.

Student must meet prerequisites before taking any given course.

Students must make a "C" or higher in all courses which satisfy graduation requirements in order to receive the Certificate of Technical Studies in Telecommunications from BPCC.

Students must meet the general education competencies for the academic certificate.

Certificate students must test out of READ 099, into ENGL 101, and MATH 099 as documented by ACT, placement tests, or course completion.
