Medical Terminology. (3-3-0)
Study of the basic structure of medical terms including prefixes, suffixes, roots, combining forms, plurals, pronunciation, spelling, and definitions. The course introduces students to fundamental concepts in human anatomy and physiology.
120:
Introductory Human Anatomy and Physiology. (3-3-0)
A survey of the structure and function of the organ systems of the human body preceded by a brief consideration of anatomical terminology cell structure, physiology and microscopic structure of tissues.
120L:
Introductory Human Anatomy and Physiology Lab. (1-0-3)
Laboratory exercises to reinforce lecture. Withdrawal from lecture mandates withdrawal from laboratory.
124:
Human Anatomy. (3-3-0)
Structure of the human body. Emphasis is placed on the anatomy of the organ systems, preceded by an examination of cellular and tissue structure.
124L:
Human Anatomy Laboratory. (1-0-3)
Prerequisite: Registration in or credit for ZLGY 124 or its equivalent.
Laboratory exercises to reinforce lecture. Withdrawal from lecture mandates withdrawal from laboratory.

Human Physiology. (3-3-0)
Prerequisite: ZLGY 124.
Study of the interrelated mechanisms of human body function from cells to organ systems.
125L:
Human Physiology Laboratory. (1-0-3)
Prerequisite: Registration in or credit for ZLGY 125 or its equivalent.

201:
General Zoology. (3-3-0)
Prerequisites: BLGY 101.
This course includes topics of basic concepts of general zoology including the origin of animal life, animal reproduction and development, major phyla of animals and the major classes of vertebrates, homeostasis, and basic concepts of animal behavior and ecology. This class is geared for science majors who wish to receive an education with an emphasis on animals.
201L:
General Zoology Laboratory. (1-0-3)
Prerequisite: Registration in or credit for ZLGY 201 or its equivalent.
Laboratory and field exercises to reinforce lecture.
205/205L:
Introduction to Modern Genetics (4-3-3)
Prerequisite: CHEM 107 or CHEM 101 and BLGY 101, or ZLGY 124.
Lecture and lab activities demonstrate principles of Mendelian inheritance, as well as, molecular analysis of inheritance, gene structure and function. Social and ethical implications of genetic information are discussed.
