The following topic covers the processes for adding SCORM. Interaction options for navigation, Gradebook options, and content options are set at this time.

Note: If the SCORM Content link is not listed, make sure that the SCORM Content option is made available under Control Panel/Manage Tools/Content Type Availability.

In the Control Panel, click on the applicable Content Area, or add a new content area. Within the content area, if you want to place your SCORM content in a folder, click on the name of an existing folder or first create a new folder to house this content.

Select SCORM Content from the drop-down menu on the action bar and click Go.

1 Required Information

Title: Enter a name for the SCORM content in the Title field that best describes the content.

Attach local file: Browse to select a SCORM package to add.

2 Interaction Options

Navigation Control Type: If Choice is selected, the viewer can use a left navigation menu to select which content to view. If Flow is selected, the left navigation menu does not appear and the viewer must use the Next and Previous buttons to view content sequentially.

3 Gradebook Options

Add Gradebook Item: Select Yes to add a Gradebook Item to the Gradebook for the content item. The name will be the name of the package and may be modified and managed from the Gradebook once added.

If you select Yes, this option will appear after you submit this first section.

To add the Gradebook option after the SCORM Content has been completely added, Modify the SCORM Content and you will be given the following option under #3 Gradebook Options.

Points Possible input

Track Attempt Details: Select Yes to be able to view user interaction with the content, such as total viewing time and question responses. From the Modify Grade page, click the View button to see the Attempt Details.

First Attempt Only: If Yes is selected for First Attempt Only, attempt details will only display for the first time the user accesses the content. If the user does not go through the whole package, subsequent attempts will not be tracked. Leaving this value as No will always show the last attempt data. This setting is for tracking data only; it does not restrict how often the content can be viewed by the user.

4 Content Options

Make Content Visible: Select Yes to make the SCORM Content available to students.

Track Number of Views: Select Yes if you want to track students that have visited the SCORM Content. To view these Statistics, next to the SCORM Content, click on Manage and then Statistics Tracking.

Choose Date Restrictions: The date the SCORM Content will be available can be selected here or if this SCORM Content is in a Folder or Learning Unit, the dates can be selected there to make available all items within that Folder or Learning Unit.

Display After: Select the date and time when the SCORM Content will become available to Students. This field is optional; the Instructor may control availability through the Make the link available option without setting specific dates.

BPCC Recommendation: Please do not select 12:00 am or 12:00pm. This has been a large source of confusion for many students and faculty. Using 11:55 or 12:05 in place of 12:00 seems to eliminate most of the confusion.

Display Until: Select the date and time the SCORM Content will be made unavailable to Students. This field may be left blank.
