Rate
Like all functions in life, chemical reactions take place across a period of time. The rate of a chemical reaction is how fast a reactant changes to a product, or a product changes back to a reactant. This amount of time may be very, very short or may be very long, depending on many factors associated with a particular reaction.
Factors affecting the Rate of Reaction
- Temperature

- Concentration of reactants and products

- Pressure

- Physical state (solid, liquid, gas)

- Presence of a catalyst
